NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Driven by the success of raising $7,000 in 2015, the New Brunswick Fire Department (NBFD) will continue to dress in pink for the month of October to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

The NBFD will be selling custom pink t-shirts and will be donating 100% of the proceeds to The Sisters Network of Central New Jersey, a non-profit organizatioin based in Somerset that offers support and advocates for African-American women affected by breast cancer.

“The Sister Network is a great local group that works tirelessly to assit and advocate for women dealing with this disease and we’re proud to support the excellent work that they do,” said Fire Director Robert Rawls.

The month of October is nationally known as breast cancer awareness month.

“The men and women of our Fire Department have seen breast cancer affect the lives of thier mothers, sisters, wives, friends, and neighbors,” said Rawls.

In honor of them, the NBFD will perform thier duties in pink to bring awareness for the cause.
