La PolicĂ­a se Niega a Identificar al Agresor de un Asalto con “Arma Blanca”

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ— En alguna parte de la Avenida Remsen la Policía de la ciudad estuvo investigando un ataque de violencia doméstica que involucró un “arma blanca” que empezó a las 11:50 am del día domingo, 7 de agosto.

Pero eso fue todo lo que estuvieron dispuestos a decir sobre el incidente, confirmando también que un sospechoso no identificado fue aprehendido y que la víctima no identificada “sufrió heridas que no fueron graves como para poner su vida en peligro.”

Man Arrested on Charges of Stealing House From Senior Citizen

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A 52-year-old plumber, and relative to several prominent private landlords in New Brunswick, has been arrested on theft charges, but what he allegedly stole might surprise you.

On August 5, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office (MCPO) announced that Fady Chedid had been charged with the theft of a century-old house in the Sixth Ward of New Brunswick.

Chedid faces two counts of theft and spent four nights in county jail, with a $50,000 bail.

Teenage Musician Falls Off Stage During Hub City Theatre Festival

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–On August, 6, the Hub City Theatre Festival began with many people smiling and dancing, until one of the teenage musicians fell off a stage in downtown.

This free event was part of the Hub City Sounds summer concert series, which kicked off in July.

The first-annual theatre festival featured the jazz band from the New Brunswick Middle School and High School, acoustic singers, fire breathers, actors, and lots of food.

Governor Christie Nominates Finance Executive to Rutgers Board of Governors

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On June 27, Governor Chris Christie nominated Keith T. Banks, the head of a subsidiary of Bank of America, to be a public member of the Rutgers Board of Governors (BoG).

The powerful 15-member board can hire and fire the University President, set the tuition and fees for tens of thousands of students, and make many other key decisions affecting students, staff, and faculty at the state school.

16-Year-Old Stabbed During Party at The Hampton Club

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A gated community in the city's Fourth Ward was the scene of a stabbing that went unpublicized by the city's police department.

A 16-year-old was injured in the incident, which occurred at around midnight on the evening of Friday, August 5 somewhere inside the gates of the Hampton Club.

Sources told New Brunswick Today that the stabbing took place in the clubhouse within the 312-unit condominium complex, but police did not immediately confirm the exact location.
