NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–Boyd Park will be home to the city’s First Annual Indo-American Festival on August 13 between 12 pm and 6 pm.

“Offering mouthwatering treats, music and theatre performances inspired by the rich tradition and culture of India,” reads the event description on the New Brunswick Cultural Center website.

A full schedule of performances is avaiable on the Cultural Center site, along with more information about Hub City Sounds, the series of summer events that includes the Indo-American Festival.

New Brunswick will also be hosting additional performing, visual, and culinary art events, as part of the Hub City Sounds concert series.

Here is a list of the upcoming events in the city as part of this festival:

  • Motion: Best Of New Jersey Dance from 2pm to 4pm on August 20. The event is to include some of their best dancers
  • 1st Annual Caribbean Festival from 1pm to 6pm on August 27. This event inludes music and dance performers, and Caribbean food.
  • Rock New Brunswick from 12pm to 6pm on Septemer 11. This event includes punk music and other performances.
  • 4th Annual Central Jersey Jazz Festival from 1pm to 6pm on September 17.
  • Corazón Latino Festival. This evtnt includes traditional dancing, music and food.

These are just some of the sights and sounds to be experienced in New Brunswick during this last leg of summer.

People who will be attending are encouraged by the organizers to bring blankets or portable chairs for seating at the park events.  Free parking is available in the garage at the Rutgers Public Safety Building at 55 Commercial Avenue.
