NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A Pennsylvania-based health system has partnered with the Saint Peter’s Healthcare System to offer at home care in Middlesex and Somerset Counties, according to a June 30 press release.
The new partnership is called “Holy Redeemer Healthcare at Saint Peter’s,” and involves Holy Redeemer, one of the largest home care providers in NJ, and St. Peter’s, which runs one of the two major hospitals in New Brunswick.
The partnership aims to “ensure that patients requiring a continuation of the expert care they have received in Saint Peter’s inpatient and outpatient settings will now have the option of continuing their ‘Saint Peter’s experience’ at home,” said Ronald C. Rak, CEO of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System.
The new partnership will streamline home care services in the area by giving patients an easier transition from being at the hospital to recovering at home, according to a press release issued by St. Peter’s.
As we reported in March, St. Peter’s recently struck a deal with Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of New Jersey to refer patients to their hospice care programs.
The Holy Redeemer, established in 1924, now provides homecare and hospice services in eleven of New Jersey’s 21 counties, as well as Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania.
In addition to holistic medical care, The Holy Redeemer is also involved with transitional housing for homeless women and children, and also provides low-income housing.
“Holy Redeemer is pleased to partner with such a respected leader in healthcare as Saint Peter’s. We have been providing service in Middlesex and Somerset counties for many years, but we will now have a respected partner to enhance our offerings,” said Patricia O’ Brien, chief administrative officer at Holy Redeemer Healthcare.
The partnership will give Saint Peter’s an ownership in Holy Redeemer Homecare Northern New Jersey entity, and will also give Saint Peter’s representation on the board of directors, although Holy Redeemer maintains full control over its management.
