Johnson & Johnson to Acquire Princeton-Based Skin Care Products Company

SKILLMAN, NJ–Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. (J&J) said on April 27 that it will acquire Princeton-based NeoStrata Company, Inc., a global leader in “Dermacosmetics” or products that join beauty and health.

“The acquisition will include NeoStrata’s affiliates and parent company TriStrata, Incorporated, a privately-held company," said J&J in a press release. 

J&J has not disclosed financial terms of the deal or said how much it is paying for the cosmetics/dermatology company.

Local Soccer Team Loses to Regional Rival in Piscataway

PISCATAWAY, NJ–Sky Blue FC, New Jersey’s National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, lost its second home match of the season 2-1 against the Western New York Flash on Saturday evening, May 7, at Yurcak Field.

The Mother’s Day weekend match, a regional rivalry, represented the two clubs' first kick-off against one another this season. Sky Blue is now in 8th place (1-2-1, 4 points), in the 10-team NWSL.

Aeropostale Stores in North Brunswick Remain Open as Retailer Files For Bankruptcy

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ–Aeropostale Inc. (Aero) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on May 4 and announced the “prompt closure” of 113 U.S. stores, but the company has spared its Garden State stores for now.

Aero will shutter its Times Square location in Manhattan, as well as four other New York stores, and three in Pennsylvania.  The retailer will also close all 41 of its stores in Canada.

Both RU Lacrosse Teams Saw Success Before Losing to Maryland in Big Ten Tournanment

EVANSTON, IL–May 5 was quite the day for Rutgers lacrosse, as both the men's and women's teams picked up wins in their respective Big Ten Tournaments.

The women took the field first, taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes, ranked 17th in the nation, at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Rutgers "WLAX" had struggled during the regular season in 2016, finishing with just a 6-11 record.

Crime Alert: Rutgers Woman Struck in Face During Attempted Sex Assault on Campus

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Three different law enforcement agencies are investigating a violent incident on the flagship campus of Rutgers University, according to a pair of crime alerts issued by Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD). 

According to the alerts, a Rutgers-affiliated woman was the victim of an "aggravated assult" on May 4 at about 3:30am in the area of Van Dyck Hall, located on the campus' main academic quad: Voorhees Mall.

Four Former Scarlet Knights Join Pro Teams During NFL Draft Weekend

CHICAGO, IL–In recent years, Rutgers football has made a habit of sending players to the National Football League (NFL), and 2016 has been no exception.

Over the weekend of April 28-30, four former Scarlet Knights joined NFL teams as the league observed its annual draft of college athletes.

The highlight of the weekend came when wide receiver Leonte Carroo, an Edison native who became Rutgers' all-time leader in receiving touchdowns, was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the draft.
