NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On Thursday, April 28, at 7pm at the Crossroads Theatre, coLAB Arts will present its annual dance concert.

Entitled Motion: Dance Works, the concert will feature four original pieces choreographed specifically for this event.

Each piece, created by choreographers Joe Monteleone, Stephanie Nerbak, Robert Mark Burke, and Hillary Pearson, will channel a specific local community organization.

coLAB Arts, chaired by Lauren Connelly, Daniel Swern, and John P. Keller, works to “engage artists, social advocates, and communities to create transformative new work.”

The organization provides a variety of “innovative programs and artist infrastructure… [and] executes productions that challenge perceptions and inspire action.”

To create the works in Motion: Dance Works, the choreographer paired with a community organization and created a piece that embodies the spirit of that organization.

Robert Mark Burke worked with The Pride Center of New Jersey, Joe Monteleone partnered with the Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership, Stephanie Nerbak worked with TrueSelves Support Group, and Hillary Pearson partnered with Elijah’s Promise.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or at in advance at www.colab-arts.org.
