NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–On March 21, the George Street Playhouse is hosting what is sure to be an unforgettable night featuring a Broadway legend.

Sandy Duncan, an acclaimed actress and comedian, is performing a dramatic reading of Alfred Uhry’s Driving Miss Daisy at the downtown theatre.

She has previously taken on the role of Daisy in a previous 2009 performance in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Theatre aficionados will recognize Ms. Duncan from her title role in the revival of Peter Pan on Broadway.

She also has lent her talents to sitcoms such as “Funny Face” and “The Hogan Family,” as well as a slew of voice acting roles.

While younger generations may not recognize Duncan’s name, they almost certainly have heard her voice before in a variety of children’s programming, such as My Little Pony and Barney and the Backyard Gang.

On the 21st, Duncan, accompanied by Kevyn Morrow & Bob Hess, will use their skills to bring the American classic Driving Miss Daisy to life.

In the classic play, Daisy Werthan, is forced to hire a chauffeur after she crashes her car, and the growing relationship between them fuels the narrative and the emotions that the story evokes.

Those interested in attending can contact the George Street Playhouse at 732-246-7717 or www.georgestreetplayhouse.org. Tickets are $25 per person and the show starts at 7:30pm.
