NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Multiple people were beaten up by three men early Saturday morning near the intersection of Mine and Union Streets in the Sixth Ward, according to a Rutgers University crime alert.
The incident occurred on February 27 at approximately 3:30 AM, at the intersection of Mine Street and Union Street.
The victims are “affiliated with the University,” according to the alert, and they told police they were approached by three men while walking. Â The alert did not say how many victims there were.
“After a brief verbal exchange the perpetrators began to strike the victims causing one to fall to the ground,” reads the crime alert. Â “They then fled the area in an unknown direction.”
According to the alert, one victim sustained a “non-life threatening injury” before being treated at a local hospital.
“No weapons were used during this incident and no demands for property were made to the victims,” reads the alert.
According to the alert, the perpetrators were described as one white male wearing a red jacket with a grey hooded shirt and blue jeans, one white male with long blond hair wearing a baseball cap with a grey hooded shirt, and a third white male with no further description.
The Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact their Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
