NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–Get out your cameras, it’s time again for the New Brunswick Public Library annual photography contest.

This fall, submissions will be accepted up until the deadline of Friday, October 9.  The deadline was extended from its initial date of October 2.

Submitted photos must have been taken between June 1 and October 9.

Free and open to the public, the theme for the contest this year is “Take Your Best Shot,” leaving the door wide open for creative submissions.

The subject must be something from the world around you, whether it be your family, some friends, your neighborhood or even your workplace.

There is no limit, so long as it is “Your Best Shot.”

Along with your photo please include a brief caption citing where it was taken, when, as well as your title.

Submissions will be displayed at the George Street Playhouse, Crossroads Theatre and the New Brunswick Free Public Library in a group exhibition, and judged on Friday, November 13.

Winners will be announced at the Exhibition Reception in the Carl T. Valenti Community Room of the library starting at 6 p.m.   The library is located at 60 Livingston Avenue, in between Morris and Welton Streets.

The winning photos will be viewed at both the George Street Playhouse and the Crossroads Theatre, just a few blocks away from the library.

The contest is free and open to all ages.  Grant funding for the contest was provided by the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission, Middlesex Board of Chosen Freeholders and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
