Governor Chris Christie Plays Medical Marijuana Advocate on Presidential Campaign Trail

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—During the September 16 Republican Presidential debate, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie addressed the issue of marijuana legalization along with three other candidates: Rand Paul, Jeb Bush, and Carly Fiorina.

Of the foursome, Christie was the only candidate committed to enforcing the federal ban on marijuana, even in states that have already approved legalization, such as Colorado and Washington.

Former Rutgers Football Coach Served on Anti-Crime Board

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—At the same time he recruited many of the players infamously arrested earlier this September, former Rutgers head football coach Greg Schiano served on the board of a 501(c)3 non-profit "Crime Stoppers" group spearheaded by New Brunswick's Police Director.

Of the ten current and former Rutgers football athletes arrested and accused of violent crimes this season, Schiano had recruited five of them: Tejay Johnson, Ruhann Peele, Daryl Stephenson, Jamil Pollard, and Leonte Carroo.

New George Street Gastropub Evokes Prohibition-Era Nostalgia

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–Still at the soft opening stage, The Dillinger Room, located at 338 George Street, is poised to be a New Brunswick staple.

After an eight month renovation the 105-year-old space, which was previously occupied for 19 years by Makeda Ethiopian Restaurant, is completely unrecognizable.

The polished concrete floors give the seamless effect of an enormous slab of cat-eye marble.

Artistas latinos serán exhibidos hasta octubre en la biblioteca pública

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—La Biblioteca Pública de New Brunswick, ubicada en 60 Livingston Avenue en New Brunswick, albergará un exhibición de arte para celebrar las obras de artistas visuales latinos renombrados de la República Dominica, Colombia y El Salvador.

La exhibición, que es gratis y abierta al público, será expuesta desde el 13 de septiembre hasta el 31 de octubre.
