NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating a recent shooting, which took place on Monday June 29 at approximately 11:35 p.m.

According to the NBPD, Laquan Hill a 25-year-old male from New Brunswick was shot multiple times while standing with two acquaintances on Comstock Street in the city’s Second Ward.

The police said that two acquaintances witnessed a black 4-door vehicle pulling up in front of the house where the three were standing. That is when an unidentified driver exited the vehicle and fired multiple shots in their direction.

According to NBPD police radio transmissions, the black 4-door vehicle then drove off towards Throop Avenue.

The authorities said that Hill was hit multiple times in the leg and lower abdomen, and then taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Hill told detectives that his back was turned and he did not see what happened.
