HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—A silent art auction and live classical performance to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County, will take place at Pino’s on Saturday May 30 at 8pm.

CASA of Middlesex County is a nonprofit currently looking for volunteers to start free training in Fall 2015 and is just one branch of a national organization that advocates for the needs of foster children in court.

To apply for the June 22nd deadline for summer training to be a volunteer, visit the CASA of Middlesex County website.

The event is free and open to anyone interested in visual art, classical music, and learning more about CASA of Middlesex County. Pino’s serves wine, beer and cocktails.

CASA of New Jersey serves children in all 21 counties by providing them with a volunteer who will look out for the needs of a given child or sibling set.

Through meetings with the child, their social workers, case managers, teachers, and other professionals, the CASA volunteer would be able to make evidence-based findings and reccomendations to the court in the best interest of a child in the foster care system after having been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

Classical Revolution, whose New Jersey chapter formed in New Brunswick, is a network of classically trained musicians who play in a variety of venues including coffee shops and bars. They will be performing at the Highland Park bar & wine shop Saturday night.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the event page on Facebook.
