Silent Auction to Benefit CASA of Middlesex County

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—A silent art auction and live classical performance to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County, will take place at Pino's on Saturday May 30 at 8pm.

CASA of Middlesex County is a nonprofit currently looking for volunteers to start free training in Fall 2015 and is just one branch of a national organization that advocates for the needs of foster children in court.

New Artificial Field Being Installed at Memorial Stadium

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Student athletes and fans of the New Brunswick High School Zebras can expect to have a new athletics field at Memorial Stadium around the beginning of the school year. 

In March, the New Brunswick Board of Education and the city government approved a shared services agreement, splitting the $1.03 million costs of renovating the facility on Joyce Kilmer Avenue.

Theatre Review: Fearless Productions Stages Grisly Yet Compelling Satirical Drama

FRANKLIN, NJ—After sitting through Fearless Production’s rendering of Martin McDonagh’s Tony award winning The Pillowman, a play festooned with child maiming, child torture, child murder, patricide, matricide and of course fratricide, this reviewer, who hasn’t smoked in twenty years, needed a cigarette.

That need is not a complaint, it’s a compliment.

El edificio de St. Peter’s volverá a ser una escuela para niños de la ciudad

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—  Richard Kaplan, el superintendente confirmó que el distrito de escuelas ha crecido y que esto a promovido un cambio de planes, y que se abrirá una nueva escuela elementaría en septiembre.

Como el distrito tuvo 686 mas estudiantes en septiembre del 2014 de lo que esperaba, Kaplan dijo que los administradores cambiaron sus planes para el edificio de la ex-escuela Católica en el quinto distrito electoral de la ciudad.
