Ciudad sigue trabajando para reemplazar supermercado fracasado

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Funcionarios de la Autoridad de Aparcamiento de New Brunswick (NBPA), dijeron que recientemente representantes de una empresa de supermercados formaron parte de las negociaciones en curso para reemplazar supermercado FreshGrocer de la ciudad que sigue vacante.

"Estamos negociando con una empresa y hemos hecho varias visitas al sitio," dijo el Presidente de NBPA Kevin McTernan.

La última visita fue el lunes, 2 de marzo, dijeron las autoridades.

Three Injured in Stabbings at Mi Tierra Bar on Jersey Avenue

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—One man is in stable condition after being stabbed and undergoing surgery, while another victim in the same incident was arrested on his way out of the hospital on an unrelated warrant.

It was a busy night for city police on March 28, especially around the time of last call at the city's 50+ bars.

Mi Tierra, a bar at the corner of Jersey Avenue and Handy Street in the city's Fourth Ward, was the scene of three stabbings in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 29, according to a police press release.

Una compañía farmacéutica actualiza una reforma de $8 millones a su planta de fabricación en New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—El 2 de marzo, Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc., una compañía basada en Philadelphia con una planta de fabricación localizada en Jersey Avenue, anunció que ha terminado de modernizar su planta en New Brunswick, con un total de $8 millones.

Según la compañía, las reformas a la planta de fabricación proporcionarán la capacidad de suministrar los mercados de los Estados Unidos y Sud América.

Chris Christie Sides Against Obama Immigration Order in Court Battle

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—New Jersey Governor Chris Christie joined Republican governors in supporting a lawsuit against President Barack Obama's executive order on immigration.

The executive order, made in November 2014 by Obama, shielded millions of undocumented immigrants in the U.S from deportation.

Christie joined the Governors of Louisiana, Texas and South Dakota in an "amicus" court brief supporting the position of the 26 states that have formally opposed Obama's order and hope to see it overturned in court.

After Two Days of Internet Problems, Rutgers Admits Its Computer Network Was Attacked

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—An email sent at 2:29pm on March 29 was the first official communication that tens of thousands of students got from Rutgers University, after more than two days of service interruptions involving the school's computer network.

The university acknowledged its network was the victim of a cyber-attack that took down internet service in dormitories, and rendered many online services used by students and staff unusable.  Shortly after 1pm, the main Rutgers University website had been taken offline for at least 15 minutes.
