NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Music and art will come together this Valentine’s Day weekend at the “Art of the Guitar” showcase on February 15 at the Zimmerli Art Museum. 

“Music at the Museum” is a new concert series featuring artists from the Mason Gross School of the Arts Extension Division and Collegiate Music Department performing at the museum.

The showcase will include works by the renowned composers Coltrane, Herzog, Domeniconi, Albeniz, Gnattali, J.S. Bach, Dyens, Milan and Tarrega.

These concerts will be held monthly on Sundays from 2-3pm at the Zimmerli Art Museum, located at the intersection of College Avenue and George Street on the campus at Rutgers University.

The family-friendly concert is open to the public and free, but seating is limited. 

The Zimmerli Art Museum also has other events for children, including their “Passport to Art” series where children and adults work side-by-side on art projects conducted by professional artists and instructors. 

The next “Passport to Art” event is “Creating a Still Life” on February 14. Advance registration is requird and space per session is limited to 20 children with an accompanying adult.
