NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rutgers Police are investigating a report of criminal sexual contact that took place on Hamilton Street and on a Rutgers University bus traveling from the College Avenue Campus towards the Cook/Douglass Campus.
The incident was reported to have occurred on Saturday, February 7, at approximately 2:00 AM, according to the alert.Â
“In this incident the victim, who is not affiliated with Rutgers University, reported that as she was a passenger on the bus, she was inappropriately touched along her inner thigh by a male perpetrator,” reads the alert, issued just about eleven hours after the incident.Â
“A similar act by the same male perpetrator was reported by the victim to have occurred on Hamilton Street as she walking towards the bus stop.”
The perpetrator, described as “a short and stocky male of Hispanic descent with a bald head and no facial hair,” wore a black sweatshirt and was last seen exiting the bus on George Street at the Rockoff Hall bus stop.
The Rutgers University Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, to contact the Rutgers Police Department Detective Bureau at (848) 932-8025.
