NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–Police are investigating another daytime burglary in the Hub City, at least the second to occur on February 4.

At around 1:54pm, just three hours after an alleged burglar stole a police truck and ran over a NBPD officer, officers received reports of another burglary in a different neighborhood.

Officers responded to a residence at 63 May Street where neighbors had reported a burglary in progress.

A police press release said that officers observed 25-year-old Lavon Stewart and 21-year-old Sapriah Tucker, both from New Brunswick, attempting to gain entrance to a window with a pry tool.

“Both Mr. Stewart and Ms. Tucker were taken into custody without incident,” reads the release.

Both were charged with attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools, according to the statement.
