NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—City police are likely investigating the case of a woman who fell from the top floor of the Gateway parking garage, located near the New Brunswick train station.
Police arrived to find a “jumper” dead on arrival in the vicinity of Brother Jimmy’s BBQ restaurant.
All signs point to suicide in the case, according to police radio transmissions. Â The woman supposedly leaped to her death from the tenth floor of the parking garage, where her car was found.Â
“It looks like there’s a note in the car that she left,” said an officer on scene.
Police and the head of the parking authority did not immediately respond to requests for more information.
This marks the second suicide from a NBPA parking garage since June, when a nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital died after supposedly jumping from the authority’s Plum Street deck.
The Gateway parking garage is connected to the highrise apartment and condominium complex known as The Vue, as well as the Rutgers University Barnes & Noble.
City officials deferred to New Brunswick Police, as did Rutgers University.
“The individual was not a Rutgers student or employee. Any questions about the incident should be directed to the New Brunswick P.D,” said a Rutgers spokesperson.
