DEVCO Releases New Design For Skyscrapers to Potentially Replace Abandoned Ferren Mall

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) has released a new name and potential design for a massive redevelopment to replace the Ferren Mall and parking deck, dubbed "The Hub @ New Brunswick Station."

The developer, which is working with current property owner New Brunswick Parking Authority, confirmed they also struck a deal with real estate developer and investment manager Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL).

Famous Visual Artist Visits Rutgers For Lecture on Women, Art, and Technology

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Internationally-known visual artist Grimanesa Amorós hosted a lecture and silent auction at Mabel Smith Douglass Library at Rutgers, sponsored by The Institute for Women In Art (IWA).

“It is a great honor to have the opportunity to come and share the work that I do and I’m looking forward to the lecture,” Amorós tells New Brunswick Today.

Rutgers Restricts Students, Faculty, and Staff From Traveling to Four Nations Hit Hard by Ebola

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On November 21, Rutgers sent a mass email to all members of its community regarding a new policy on Ebola control that the university is instating.

The message was sent by Brian L. Strom, the Inaugural Chancellor of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.

In the new policy Rutgers students, faculty, and staff are restricted from official or authorized travel to Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Mali, four nations with high reports of Ebola cases.

Woman Shot in Head on Seaman Street, Sparking Heroin Raids Where Cops Arrested Nine People

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A woman from Trenton was shot on Seaman Street in the city's Fourth Ward around 4:15pm on Monday, November 24, making her the second victim of a shooting on that block this year.

Today, a full week after the shooting, police announced the details of the incident, and a subsequent raid, for the first time.

Police identified 24-year-old Brittney Holt as the sole victim of the shooting.  Holt was shot in the head but remains in stable condition, according to a New Brunswick Police Department statement.
