NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—City police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Saturday, December 20, at approximately 10:24pm in the parking lot of Hamilton Garden Apartments at 300 Hamilton Street.

The victim reported that during a prearranged meeting he was approached by two male perpetrators that demanded his property then struck him in the face with a firearm.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated by Emergency Medical Services. 

Over dispatch radio, a police officer described the perpetrators as two males: one Hispanic man wearing a black jacket and colorful shirt, and one tall, light-skinned Black man, approximately 180 pounds with facial hair, wearing all black clothing and a black fitted cap. 

After the assault and robbery, the suspects fled the scene, and police have been unable to track them down.

Rutgers University issued their eighteenth crime alert of the semester in relation to this most recent assault and robbery.

This is the second reported assault that has occurred in the area of the Hamilton Gardens aparment complex this year, the first being the assault of a 23-year old New Brunswick man who was slashed in the throat in August.
