PISCATAWAY, NJ—Rutgers Chancellor Richard Edwards announced the death of a Rutgers student, Neha Musipatla, who graduated from Piscataway High School just six months ago.
Musipatla passed away Monday evening, according to a campuswide email sent by Edwards at 3:16pm today,
Musipatla was a first-year student in the School of Arts and Sciences and a resident of Piscataway Township.
"We are saddened by her loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with Neha’s family and friends at this difficult time," wrote Edwards, who did not indicate any details regarding the cause or causes of the death.
"The Musipatla family asked that I let you know that the wake for Neha will be held on Saturday, December 13, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., at Hindu Funeral Home, located at 75 Woodbridge Avenue in Highland Park. The family welcomes the Rutgers community to attend the services on Saturday."
Edwards emphasized that counseling is available to "any student who is grieving Neha’s loss, or who is in need of counseling for any reason."
"You can contact CAPS (Counseling, ADAP, and Psychological Services) at 848-932-7884 or visit the center at 17 Senior Street in New Brunswick," wrote Edwards, adding that students can also "reach out to their Residence Life staff (if living on campus) or the Dean of Students (if commuting or residing off campus)."
