UPDATE (7:00PM): “Vanessa Perez-Bautista has been located,” said NBPD Captain JT Miller.  “The New Brunswick Police Department would like to thank everyone for their help and support.”

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Brunswick Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 12-year-old girl, Vanessa Perez-Bautista, of Townsend Street in the Second Ward.

“She left her residence on Townsend Street to walk to the store yesterday morning and has not returned home,” reads a statement from Police Captain JT Miller.

Vanessa Perez-Bautista was last seen wearing a black sweater, blue jeans, and red converse sneakers, according to the statement.

The family reported her missing yesterday and earlier today, multiple police units were at the family’s residence, located between Remsen and Throop Avenues.

The department is asking anyone who has seen Perez-Bautista, or knows of her whereabouts, to please call Detective William Coleman at (732) 745-5222 or New Brunswick Police Communications at (732) 745-5200.
