McKinley School VP Arrested For Drunk Driving and Drug Possession

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Superintendent Richard Kaplan confirmed that the New Brunswick school district has suspended one of its Vice Principals with pay after his arrest over the weekend.

Lester Voorhees, Vice Principal of McKinley Community School, was arrested on Friday for drunk driving and possession of marijuana and cocaine, among 13 total charges, according to Police Captain JT Miller.

Voorhees was pulled over by the New Brunswick Police at the corner of Hamilton Street and High Street at 11:07 PM on Friday, November 21.

UPDATE (7:00PM): "Vanessa Perez-Bautista has been located," said NBPD Captain JT Miller.  "The New Brunswick Police Department would like to thank everyone for their help and support."

On The Defensive, Rutgers President Robert Barchi Blames Prior Administration in Town Hall Meeting

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—In one of his few public appearances this semester, Rutgers President Robert Barchi was defensive in the face of recent criticism for being inaccessible to students and others.

The 20th President of the state university even went so far as to blame administrations before his own, in controversial remarks made before the crowd of 150 in the Student Activities Center on George Street.
