NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Superintendent Richard Kaplan confirmed that the New Brunswick school district has suspended one of its Vice Principals with pay after his arrest over the weekend.

Lester Voorhees, Vice Principal of McKinley Community School, was arrested on Friday for drunk driving and possession of marijuana and cocaine, among 13 total charges, according to Police Captain JT Miller.

Voorhees was pulled over by the New Brunswick Police at the corner of Hamilton Street and High Street at 11:07 PM on Friday, November 21.

UPDATE (7:00PM): "Vanessa Perez-Bautista has been located," said NBPD Captain JT Miller.  "The New Brunswick Police Department would like to thank everyone for their help and support."

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On November 17, under questionable circumstances, Middlesex County's Freeholder Board took an $8 million vote to close down a historic healthcare facility that the county has run for 78 years.

Typically, the seven-member Freeholder board holds agenda sessions on Mondays and then regular, televised meetings on Thursdays.

TRENTON, NJ—In response to sweeping changes to the state's bail system, courts in New Jersey have enacted numerous fee increases that took effect on November 17.

A total of 65 fees would be raised, in addition to the creation of 17 new fees.  Filing an appeal now costs $250, up from $200.  Applying for a probation out-of-state-travel permit would now cost $150 a month.
