NJ Turnpike Expansion Nearly Complete, While Rail Tunnels to NYC Remain a Pipe Dream

EXITS 6-9, NJ—After four years, the New Jersey Turnpike widening project appears to be nearing its end, but questions about the state's transportation priorities persist.

The repaving and widening has made for a smoother ride, and congestion appears to be low. The expansion lengthens the traditional Turnpike division between cars-only lanes and cars-trucks-buses lanes.

Democrats Hope to Maintain Control of All County Freeholder Positions

UPDATE (11/5): Carol Barrett came in first place with 76,270, with 60% of the vote across the county.  Her running mate Charles Tomaro also won his seat for a full term, but trailed behind Barrett by almost 4,000 votes.  Republican candidates garnered 53,747 and 51,482 votes and 166 write-in votes were cast.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—This Tuesday is Election Day in New Jersey, and two candidates are going to be elected to the position of Middlesex County Freeholder.

Zimmerli Art Museum Now Offers Free Admission to All

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Zimmerli Art Museum recently announced a new free admission policy for all museum attendees, allowing every visitor to view the full museum without paying an entry fee.

The museum officially implemented the new general admission program on September 2, coinciding with the fall Rutgers University semester and autumn museum season.

Three Highland Park Board of Education Seats Up For Election

UPDATE (11/5):  The team of Anne Gowen, Robert Roslewicz, and Michelle McFadden-DiNicola swept into all three seats that were open in the election.

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—Seven candidates will compete for three seats on the Highland Park Board of Education during this Tuesday's General Election.

Each of the nine members of the Board of Education hold their positions for three years. Gregory Deatz and current Board President Daniel J. Ross will be leaving the Board this November after carrying out their terms.
