NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Police and emergency medical personnel responded to reports of a shooting at the Quentin Gardens Apartments at approximately 9pm on the evening of October 5.

A male victim was found lying in the street, according to police radio transmissions.

But officers on the scene weren’t immediately sure if the victim was shot in the incident.

“He may have just been hit with something else, but I don’t know.  We’re going to need [the] Detective [Bureau] and the [Identification Bureau],” said one police officer.

Residents say they heard at least two gunshots and dispatchers told emergency medical personnel they were responding to a report of a “[gun shot wound] to the face” at 6 Quentin Avenue.

A vehicle parked nearby had also been shot at, according to the officers on the scene.

City officials, including the spokesperson for the New Brunswick Police Department, did not respond to requests to confirm the incident and provide more information about injuries and arrests.

The garden apartment complex, located between Route 27 and Wright Place, consists of 60 rental units and is currently owned by Brooklyn-based Quentin Realty LLC, according to property records.
