NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—There are a number of fun things to do on Halloween this year, including a Halloween Parade on

The New Brunswick Recreation Department is hosting two free public events on Thursday, October 30 in Buccleuch Park.

Then on Halloween Day, community organizations will be hosting two “trunk or treat” events offering free candy to children who are accompanied by an adult.

A Trunk or Treat is a popular community event where families gather in a parking lot to safely celebrate Halloween together and share candy.  Both events are free and open to the public.

The events will be held in the parking lot of the Lord Stirling School, and in the parking lot of the Tropicana restaurant on Georges Road.

Families are encouraged to bring their children dressed up in full, weather-appropriate costumes.

“All New Brunswick children are welcome!” reads the City’s event page.

“4-H and Unity Square are really proud to be offering this free, fun, and safe family event,” says Laura Eppinger of New Brunswick 4-H.

Unity Square does criminal background checks with all those volunteering to decorate their trunks and passing out candy, says Eppinger.
