NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rutgers Police are investigating a burglary at the convenience store located inside the Student Activities Center on George Street, according to a crime alert.

At approximately 3:50 am on October 10, a suspect gained entry to the covenience store by breaking the glass window and stole several valuable items.

The suspect, who police say is not affiliated with the school, has been identified and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

However, police did not reveal the suspect’s identity.  A crime alert issued to the university community left out this key fact.

Rutgers Police have not responded to inquiries from New Brunswick Today asking for the name of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 28 years old, about 5′ 10″ tall with a light beard, according to the alert.

The suspect was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, aviator-style sunglasses, light-colored blue jeans that were cuffed at the ankles, and black shoes with red-shaded shoe laces.
