NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Brunswick Jazz Project will present its 2nd Annual Jazz Festival, which is taking place this Saturday September 13th at 1 pm in Monument Square, at the intersection of Livingston Avenue and George Street in downtown New Brunswick.
The festival is a three-day long affair that kicked off Friday in Flemington, and will be taking place in downtown Somerville at 1pm Sunday outside the county courthouse.
Kicking off this year’s festival is the New Brunswick Jazz Band, which is made up of students from various schools in Middlesex County.
The show will also feature Josh Evans, Jazzmeia Horn & Band, and headliner Ravi Coltrane. Ravi Coltrane is the son of pianist Alice Coltrane and the legendary saxophonist John Coltrane.
The younger Coltrane has toured with such famous musicians as Al Jarreau, guitarist Earl Klugh, and pianist George Duke.
