NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Rutgers University Police Department is currently hiring qualified individuals for the position of a Police Officer on their Cook campus location in New Brunswick.
The position will offer individuals various challenging and exciting career experiences. Â Although RUPD is not a Civil Service agency, RUPD officers do participate in Police and Fire Retirement System and earn state benefits.
The starting base salary is $42,812 upon completion of field training.
Rutgers Police officers will commit to ensure the safety of the University community and work in conjunction with federal, state, and local agencies.
RUPD is one of only a dozen law enforcement agencies within the state to have achieved advanced law enforcement accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
Rutgers Police Department officers regularly conduct patrol by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, and all-terrain vehicles.
Rutgers officers utilize state-of-the-art technologies and work a variety of assignments and special events, from major sporting events to concerts.
