NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A 50-year-old woman from Burlington County who authorities say jumped to her death from the top of the Plum Street Parking Deck two weeks ago has been identified by NJ.com’s Anthony Attrino.

According to a police report obtained by Attrino, the woman was a nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, located across the street from the 12-story parking garage.

Elizabeth J. Mouw-Johnsen, a resident of the Crosswicks section of Chester Township and nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, jumped to her death at approximatley 3:30 am on June 5.

A spokesperson for the hospital did not respond to a emailed inquiry from New Brunswick Today sent the day after Mouw-Johnsen’s death.

According to the report, video footage from a security camera showed the victim impacting the ground at 3:27 am, just one minute after Mouw-Johnsen’s red, 4-door Honda entered the parking garage and went straight to the twelfth floor.

At 3:40 am, a supervisor with the New Brunswick Parking Authority, having been tipped off by cell phone, instructed a worker from the parking authority to investigate what had happened. At 3:45 am,  the victim’s body was found at Plum Street.

The case was turned over to the Major Crimes Unit of the New Brunswick Police Department.

A funeral service was held for Mouw-Johnsen in Princeton.  She leaves behind a husband, as well as seven nieces and nephews.
