NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On May 3, Christ Church in New Brunswick will be hosting an Aftermath Recovery Benefit Concert for survivors of the Typhoon Haiyan disaster that occurred in Southeast Asia in November 2013.
The Haiyan Typhoon is considered one of the worst natural disasters to have ever been recorded, responsible for over 6,000 mortalities and 27,000 injuries just in the Philippines alone.
During the Aftermath Benefit Concert, a variety of musical and dance performances will be performed, including Filipino music, opera excerpts, and flamenco dance.
Performers include the Philippine Chamber Rondalla, Martin Neron on piano, Lisa Botalico flamenco dancing, and New Brunswick’s own soprano Amy Suznovich, as well as many other talented vocalists.
The show is sponsored by Web of Compassion, a non-profit organization located in Princeton, NJ, which specializes in fundraising through social events in order to aid victims of both natural and man-made disasters that occur around the world.
The concert will occur at Christ Church New Brunswick, located on 5 Paterson Street, Saturday May 3rd at 7pm.
There is a suggested donation of $10 for students and $20 for adults.
