NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–City police are investigating a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a 67-year-old man sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Bayard Street and Neilson Avenue near the Wolfson Parking Deck. At five AM, New Brunswick police reported that they suspected the man to be dead on arrival of law enforcement.

City police who arrived on the scene reported that the man was unresponsive with no breathing.

“He’s also cold to the touch,” police reported at 4:38 a.m.

The Star Ledger reported that the victim Tsz Chan, 67, of New Brunswick, died from injuries that occurred as a result of being struck by a vehicle in the area.

At the time Chan was wearing a gray fleece vest, plaid shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers, the Star-Ledger reported.

Officers Patrick Buckelew and Edward Bobadilla are investigating the case. Anyone with information regarding this incident may call the city’s traffic safety unit at 732-745-5005 or 732-745-5200.

Police did not immediately return phone calls regarding this incident.
