EDISON, NJ—New Brunswick resident and opera singer Amy Suznovich is throwing a free public concert for veterans at the Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park, at 132 Evergreen Road in Edison.

The event, entitled “Amy Suznovich In Concert: A Tribute to the Veterans” is scheduled for Monday, February 24 from 3.30pm-4.30pm.  The “Music Appreciation Hour” event is free and open to the public.

“I believe it’s very important to honor and give back to the Veterans and that’s what I’m hoping to do by giving them this concert,” Suznovich told New Brunswick Today.

A song list for the event includes patriotic pieces such as “God Bless America”, Broadway classics, and operatic arias like Lucia’s “Regnava nel silenzio”.

A lifelong resident of the Hub City, Amy is a trained coloratura noted with a wide vocal range, having performed with the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra, Main Street Theatre, Queens Opera NJ, and Opera Siena in several operas such as The Golden Arrow, Orlando, Rodelinda, Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, and Il Re.

She was recently nominated for the Main Street Theatre Awards for Best Female Solo for her performance in Glitter and Be Gay, and Leading Actress for her role as Cunegode in Candide.

A Hungarian-American, Suznovich has previously performed with the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra at the Hungarian-American festival, and at the American Hungarian Foundation’s Carousel Ball Gala.

Amy also performs regularly with The Opera Project, and has performed several concerts in Germany from 2008-2013.
