NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Yesterday  police responded to a report of a body found in the backyard of 28 Hartwell Street in New Brunswick.

The body has been identified as William R. McCaw, a 22-year-old man from Gallatin, Tennessee.  According to a press release, he was pronounced dead when police arrived on scene at 10:45am. 

While autopsy reports are not yet available from the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office, preliminary reports claim that McCaw’s body exhibited signs of severe blunt force trauma, implying that he was possibly beaten. 

McCaw, a former Rutgers student and current Kean University student would often go to New Brunswick to visit friends.

It has also been confirmed that McCaw had no connection to the residents of the property where the body was discovered.

According to his Facebook page, McCaw was a sales representative at getyourgreek.com, and also an intern at the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.

The news of McCaw’s death has been apparent on social media.

A recent tweet from a close friend of the victim’s reads, “I can barely type this right now.. and hate how it’s so cliché.. But RIP Billy Bob McCaw. The originator of Tubbz and one of my best friends.”
