NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–The city school system will be closed on Monday February 3, due to a weather forecast that calls for several inches of snow overnight.

Though snow has not yet begun to fall, the school board announced the closure via their Nixle emergency alert system.

However, the message blasted out to residents at 10:38pm included an erroneous date: “Due to inclement weather, New Brunswick Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014.”

This marks the third snow day for the district this year.  Weather.com is currently forecasting three to five inches of snow.
