NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–According to authorities,  two men wearing masks entered an apartment at 14 Jersey Avenue in New Brunswick and shot one of the residents around 7:30pm on Friday, January 24.

The apartment is located above Mi Tierra bar, at the corner of Jersey Ave. and Handy Street.

After entering the home, the suspects demanded money from the the victim, and after he refused to comply, one suspect revealed a silver handgun and fired a single shot, which hit the victim’s finger. 

There were also three other residents at the address, one of whom gave up a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The residents described the first suspect, who brandished the handgun, as a black male, approximately 6-foot, 1-inch tall, with a medium to heavy build.

The second suspect was described as a black male around 5-foot, 6-inches with a medium build.

None of the residents could describe the suspects’ faces, as they both wore black masks at the time of the robbery. 

The shooting victim who was shot was taken to Robert Wood Johnson hospital and treated and treated for his injury.
