NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The city’s school system used their new emergency alert system to announce all city schools will close tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22.

The announcement came at 7:13pm this evening, after an arduous rush hour plagued city commuters as numerous accidents led to traffic gridlock.

It is the second snow day this year for New Brunswick schools.  As we reported earlier, the schools were closed in advance of a snowstorm that hit January 3.

Snow is rapidly accumulating, according to weather.com.  So far, nearly ten inches of snow has descended on the city, with more to come.

An additional four to six inches of snow is predicted.
