NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—An unidentified man, who appears to be in his late 20’s or early 30’s, is still unconscious after being struck by an automobile on July 22.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:19am, near the intersection of Commercial Avenue and Neilson Street.

It was not a hit-and-run according to the police. The man is about 5’4” and 150 pounds.

Almost a month after the accident, city police have turned to the public for help identifying the man, who is still being treated in a local hospital and remains in a coma.

They are now asking anyone with information on this man’s identity to contact Officer Charles Savoth at Sergeant Raymond Trigg’s phone line at (732) 745-5280.  Phone messages left for city police were not immediately returned.

Police did not inform New Brunswick Today of their efforts to identify the man.  New Brunswick Patch was the first to report the effort shortly before noon on Tuesday.

NBPD Captain JT Miller said last night that part of the reason the department waited to request help from the public was for the man’s swelling to go down.
