NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—This Wednesday at 10:30am, the historic State Theatre on Livingston Ave. will be screening the 2010 film The Karate Kid starring Jackie Chan. Tickets are just $5.
The theatre plans to show several high-definition movies this summer on a 46-foot wide screen. The program ranges consist of HD family-friendly movies and live HD performances captured on camera. The screen was used earlier this month for a free screening of the 1972 musical film "1776."
Upcoming screenings will cost $12 each for general admission. Tickets are available through the State Theatre box office at 732-246-7469.
The State Theatre will be showing the animated feature film Madagascar 3, starring the voices of comedians Chris Rock and Ben Stiller on Tuesday July 30 at 3pm.
On August 10, the abstract ballet captured live from the Bolshoi Ballet, La Bayadère will be played at 3pm.
Later that same evening, Sound City, a rock n' roll documentary directed by David Grohl, will be played at 8pm.
There will be a viewing of Don Giovanni, a Mozart comedy opera captured live from La Scala, Italy on August 24 at 3pm.
And finally, later that evening at 8pm, video Peter Gabriel's live 2011 concert of New Blood will be played.
