Food Historian to Give Talk on “New Jersey’s Wonder Fruit”

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On Wednesday, June 5, certified tea specialist and food historian Judith Krall-Russo, will speak at a public library’s program titled, “Blueberries: New Jersey’s Wonder Fruit.”

Those in attendance will learn about the history of blueberries, and how they were first cultivated in New Jersey.  Krall-Russo will also discuss the health benefits and different ways to prepare blueberries.

EXCLUSIVE: Mayor’s Spokesman Gave City Council Bad Info on Board Appointments

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—At the May 15 meeting of City Council, a spokesman for Mayor James Cahill assured the Council that the mayor had filled all but one of the positions on the city's nineteen appointed volunteer boards and commissions.

However, a document updated in response to questions from NewBrunswickToday.com indicates that there are far more openings on the boards than the city spokesman led the council to believe.

Sarah Comstock’s Summer Journey to Old New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—There was a time before the grease trucks, or any trucks at all for that matter.  Back when churches were the tallest structures in the city, and long before women and men would share the same classrooms at Rutgers.

Imagine, if you will, a time when what is now the Grease Trucks parking lot was an enormous mansion belonging to the Johnson clan, when a vast network of streetcars ran along trolley tracks throughout the city and the region.

Friends of Library Meeting Will Feature Independent Filmmaker

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Brunswick Free Public Library's nonprofit organization will be welcoming an artist, author, and independent filmmaker Hisani P. Dubose tomorrow at 3pm in the Henry Guest House, next to the library on Livingston Avenue.

Dubose is an author, educator, and independent filmmaker.  She will be speaking about her 2010 book “Do I Have to be a Starving Artist in the 21st Century?”
