NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—About $55,000 in cash, drugs, and weapons were seized from a New Brunswick man during a drug bust in Franklin last week.

Hugo Manuel Sanchez Luengas, 32, was arrested by police in Franklin Township after authorities received a tip that he would be driving his black SUV to a parking lot on Hamilton Street to deliver a large quantity of cocaine, according to a report on NJ.com.

Police seized the cocaine, worth about $55,000, along with drug paraphernalia and a loaded semi-automatic handgun, according to a statement from the authorities.

When confronted by police, Luengas gave them permission to search his vehicle. Inside, authorities found five ounces of cocaine and $697 in cash.

At Luengas’ home, police also confiscated an additional five ounces of cocaine, as well as a .32 caliber handgun and $786 in cash.

Judge Paul W. Armstrong of the State Superior Court set Luengas’ bail at $500,000 without the 10% option. Luengas is currently at the Somerset County Jail.
