NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A city with a rich Irish heritage, New Brunswick is celebrating with traditional Irish food and drink at local venues like The Old Bay Restaurant and Tumulty's Pub.
The Old Bay's Free Irish Buffet on including corned beef, boiled cabbage, boiled potatoes, Guinness Irish Shepherd's Pie, and Irish Soda Bread. According to an employee, the "buffet will start at 2pm, but doors will open at 1pm."
"The band Jersey Minx will be playing from 3-7pm. We'll also have $4 Guinness and $3 Jameson."
Tumulty's Pub will also be celebrating with an "Irish Fair, which means an Irish buffet" explains the restaurant's manager.
"We'll have corned beef and cabbage, Bangers and Mash, Guinness Shepherd's Pie, and lamb stew."
"There will be Irish music after 9pm. And we have Guinness Stout – the best thing in the world."
Neither event will have a cover charge.
According to Patch.com's Ivy Jacobson and Jennifer Bradshaw, George Street Alehouse will also offer special menu items for the holiday.

Tom Burns, who sings and plays accordion and guitar for A Band of Rogues is a Rutgers alumni, and the current host of WRSU 88.7 FM's "The Voice of Ireland" Sundays at 6pm.
He says that the band was commissioned by a Rutgers alum to come up with their own version of the song last year when Rutgers played Virginia Tech in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
