NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Middlesex County Office of Health Services has issued a rabies alert after discovering a rabid bat in the city's Sixth Ward.
The bat was found in a basement near the intersection of College Avenue and Lafayette Street, near the west side of Buccleuch Park and the Raritan River, according to a report on NJ.com.
MyCentralJersey.com first reported the alert at 5:25pm yesterday.

At least one of the victims was shot in the head, according to police radio transmissions from the scene of the shooting.
