NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A tractor trailer overturned at the intersection of Routes 1 & 18 at about 10am this morning, causing the a ramp connecting the two highways to be closed.

Police expect the ramp to be closed until at least 2pm.

This marks the second time this summer that a large truck has overturned at the junction of the two highways.  On June 3, a similar accident occurred around 5:30am, causing a section of Route 1 to be closed for much of the day.

The truck that overturned this morning is owned by Kephart Trucking of Bigler, PA.  No one was injured according to published reports, though the driver of the truck was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

A plan is in the works at the New Jersey Department of Transportation to reconfigure the interchange and add an extra lane of travel into New Brunswick.

Correction: An earlier version of this story indicated that the truck in question was a gasoline tanker.  It was a tractor trailer, but the accident gasoline from its fuel tank to spill on the roadway.
