NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A woman was hospitalized after she was struck by a car on Hamilton Street at about 1:15pm on Friday.
But that incident, which occurred near the intersection with Plum Street in front of Ta-ta’s Pizza, was only the beginning.Â
Police officers briefly closed one block of Hamilton Street as EMS crews tended to the unidentified female victim.
According to a witness on the scene, the driver was delivering food for Korean BBQ Grill on Easton Ave. Â The driver stopped at the scene, according to the witness.
The victim left the scene in a Rutgers University ambulance and traffic was re-opened shortly before 2pm.
Later that evening, a mother and her two children were struck by a driver on Hassart Street, according to New Brunswick’s Patch.com.
The 19-year-old driver stayed at the scene according to the report.
The following day, in neighboring East Brunswick, a woman lost control of her vehicle and struck five pedestrians, fatally injuring two.
The Home News Tribune reported that the pedestrians who lost their lives were walking home from a religious service at a nearby synagogue.
Also, Friday morning, a 61-year-old woman in Old Bridge was killed in an accident at an intersection with no traffic light near a middle school, according to a report on NJ.com.
One day earlier, an 86-year-old South Plainfield woman was killed while sitting in a parking lot of a municipal park at 10am, according to the report.
