NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Jersey State Police have issued an alert requesting public assistance locating two children who went missing in New Brunswick last night.
Francisco Perera, a 10-year-old Hispanic boy and his friend Devine Nicholas, an 11-year-old black boy were reported missing. Â The public is instructed to call the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at 609-882-2000 ext. 2554 if they have any information regarding their whereabouts.
The boys were last seen at Perera’s residence on the 200 block of Somerset Street in the city’s Fifth Ward at about 6pm on Sunday August 5. Â Nicholas is a resident of Mine Street in the Sixth Ward.
Prior to his disappearance, Perera told his mother that he was going to nearby Kossuth Park on Harvey Street, according to the alert.
Perera was wearing a “white t-shirt, blue/white striped shorts, and sandals without socks.” Â He has scars on both of his knees, according to the alert.
Nicholas is 4 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 85 pounds. Â He has black hair and brown eyes, and was wearing black Crocs brand shoes.
According to the alert, Nicholas “usually has a Spiderman push scooter in his possession” and has a medical condition that requires medication.
