NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A man has been charged with federal offenses for trying to attempting to bring six razor blades onto an international flight, according to the Bergen Record.

Michael John Davidson, a 41-year-old city resident paid cash for a ticket to Budapest Hungary, according to the report.

Authorities allegedly discovered the razors with an X-ray machine at Newark Liberty International Airport.

Security officers searched the luggage, and Davidson was charged.  US Magistrate Mark Falk ordered Davidson to undergo a mental competency evaluation on Tuesday, according to the report.
