NEW BRUNSWICK,NJ—Thursday afternoon, Ahmad Reddice, 32, was apprehended  in a house on Reservoir Avenue in the Second Ward after he fled police.

During the chase Reddice, who hails from Irvington, pointed a fully loaded weapon in the direction of the authorities, according to the report on NJ.com.

NBPD Lt. JT Miller told the Newark Star-Ledger that “the patrol saw Reddice on the porch of the house, showing a handgun to another person. When officers approached, Reddice ran in the house, with officers pursuing him, and once inside Reddice turned and point the gun at police”.

Once the officers took out their weapons, Reddice had already fled and dropped the gun he was holding, according to police.

Reddice was apprehended and police said that they recovered the loaded 9mm handgun that he was using.

He has been charged with  resisting arrest, aggravated assault on an officer, and unlawful possession of a weapon.   Reddice is being held on $100,000 bail at the Middlesex County jail in North Brunswick.

This isn’t the first time Reddice has had an altercation with police officers.  In 2008, Reddice was charged with assaulting an officer in Plainsboro after he attempted to flee while being arrested for driving while intoxicated.

He was also charged with ecstacy possession and intent to distribute marijuana in the same incident, according to an article on NJ.com.
