Javier Olvera–Mondragon

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Javier Olvera–Mondragon, 25, a local New Brunswick resident, was fatally wounded outside Los Amigos Tavern late last Monday night after being shot over a heated dispute inside the bar.

According to a report on New Brunswick’s Patch.com, the dispatchers sent patrol units out when they were called about the dispute at 1:49 am and when they arrived at 2:02 am Olvera-Mondragon was already dead. He was found outside of the bar at 142 Remsen Avenue.

Detective Ronoldy Martinez of the New Brunswick Police Department and Investigator Sean O’Lone of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office lead a preliminary investigation and determined that Olvera-Mondragon was shot following a dispute inside the bar and that the gunman fled toward Throop Avenue, according to a report at My Central Jersey.

The results of the autopsy are still undetermined and no arrests have been made, but the county prosecutor’s office issued a press release announcing cash rewards for information leading to an arrest.
