NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – The owner of a Geographic Information System (GIS) company based in downtown New Brunswick is able to spend Christmas with his family after he and his son were detained by federal immigration authorities for over two months.

Anatas Entchev, owner of Entchev GIS Architects, and his son, Enislav, were re-united on December 8, thanks in part to a petition that garned over 1,300 signatures on the website Change.org, accoring to Patch.com’s Jennifer Bradshaw.

On October 5, federal Homeland Security agents showed up at Mr. Entchev’s North Brunswick home and took him and his son into custody, according to the article.  For the next 65 days, he resided in Newark’s Essex County Correctional Facility, with other immigrant detainees.

U.S. Senator Robert Menendez and Congressman Rush Holt each wrote handwritten letters to the federal government supporting the Entchevs’ release, according to the article.
